MILDRED & CO COUPLES: MADELEINE & JONATHAN

Some weddings don’t need an introduction, nor a discussion of themes; they float perfectly fine on their own. Pigeonholing the day into a type, say ‘rustic’ or ‘modern’ seems to fall short of a more wonderful reality. This is especially true of Madeleine and Jonathan’s wedding; an honest, elegant affair that marked their beginning as a married couple after seven years together. The pair exchanged vows at Thurlby Domain in Queenstown, with 95 guests flying from Auckland for the event. Madeleine (co-founder of fashion label Harman Grubisa) wore a Mariana Hardwick lace gown, replete with plunging neckline and long sleeves, while Jonathan stepped out in Dior shoes, and matched his groomsmen with Zara suits. Bridesmaids were free to embrace their own look, no set colour nor style to adhere to. Festivities were all that the bride and groom wished them to be, with kind, soulful speeches, a magnificent multi-layered cake and dancing lasting into the night.
